Welcome one and all to the MMA Ranking Showdown- the Heavies!

David: Joining me, he does on EVERY MMA show here on ISC is Robert "X" Menn, I swear- we need to get Wild Bill or someone else on here or people are going to start talking.

Robert: Why? I know you like it just me and you. Anyways, like he said, I'm here and I'm the one with the microphone, so you will listen to every damn word I have to say! Wedding Singer? No? Alright, educate yourselves then

David: - Well, we are looking today at the rankings of 2 divisions- HWY and LWT - since to me the Heavy is about the thinnest and lightweight could be the easiest to me.

Robert: Gotta start somewhere I guess.

David: Feel free to send any comments our way.

Robert: And he means that.

David: First up- the Big Boys, Let me post the field I have- since we are only doing top 10.

Robert: Let's do this.

David: I posted as many as I could think of In case we wanted to do a top 20 later on. - Did I miss anyone?

Robert: Looks good to me.

David: Ok, first off I think we take FEDOR off the list- he's number 1 easy- unless I have to slap you with your Andrei beanie baby again.

Robert: Fedor, easily number 1. He doesn't do anything but win. Much to my dissatisfaction.

David: Ok next up, I'm looking at Mir, AA and maybe Barnett - I think I want to have Mir here- He did something Fedor couldn't do in 2 tries and no one has EVER done.

Robert: Mir at number 2? Hmm....alright. I can agree to that. He looked very impressive in finishing Noguiera. Almost back to form when he first won the UFC Heavyweight title. The second slot looks good for him.

David: ok, I'm happy with AA at 3, I think he's simply better than Barnett, and I bet that knee keeps him up at night.

Robert: Agreed. At least Arlovski fought Fedor. Barnett has been ducking him since the Pride/FC days. Hell, Barnett was given the Fedor fight before Andrei. He turned it down. That in itself should net you negative man points. Andrei looked great in the first 3 minutes of his fight with Fedor. Most impressive. That knee was ill advised, and he paid for it. Would definitely like to see the rematch.

David: So Who's Next? Barnett is out there- and I agree with the Minus Man points- Brock is sitting there, I kinda think Overeem is top 5 or close top it. Plus how far does Nog drop?

Robert: Well, I just don't think Barnett has it anymore. Looked average against Yvel. I mean, was he really covering up from a full mount? Never seen that before. Anyways...we have Fedor, Mir, Arlovski. Next, I'd go with Noguiera. I wanna put Brock right here, 'cause well, he has the belt, but he just hasn't beat enough top competition. So I'm going with Nog. I would suggest Lesnar at #5. What say you?

David: I'll go with Nog- I don;t know how much the loss hurts him-I'm hoping he don;t fall off like Cro-Cop did, Sadly Barnett has the push- so we got Nog at 4? I can;t have Brock there- who knows how good he is, how about we take Barnett at 5, then Brock at 6? I mean duking the Number 1 don;t mean you are not top 5.

Robert: I doubt Nog will fall like Cro-Cop. (crosses fingers) Alright, I'll give you the Barnett at #5 and Lesnar at #6. Don't want to, but I have no reason other than I think Lesnar would mop the floor with him. But given Brock's "rookie" status, Barnett then Lesnar.

David: I think 7 & 8 are kinda easy- Randy and Timmy, I can;t put Overeem or Rothwell here- and sorry, I just can;t think there is a MONSTER gap at 8- almost like the NBA when you get past the Celtics and Cavs in the East.

Robert: Yeah, that was easy. I believe Randy still has it. I would take him over Barnett if the two were to meet today, but that's another story. Sylvia gets the nod at 8, merely by default. Like you said, the gap from 8-9 is huge. So to round it all out, I have Overeem at 9 and Big Ben Rothwell at 10.

David: Thats the hard part about the ranking- If they fought today- I might take Timmy, Randy, Brock and Overeem over Barnett- but I can;t prove it.

So the top 10.

1- Fedor
2- Mir
3- AA
4- Barnett
5- Nog
6- Brock
7- Couture
8- Silvia
9- Overeem
10 – Rothwell

Any Issues?

Robert: No, but I need a beer.
